The ALLARM staff is comprised of the directors and the student watershed coordinators. The students have a variety of roles in the office but their responsibilities often overlap creating a dynamic office community. The ALLARM staff fosters a community where collaboration thrives to accomplish the organization's historic mission. The collaborative atmosphere also fosters new ideas and projects as the organization moves into the future.

As the director of ALLARM I am responsible for leading the ALLARM program, working with ALLARM's fabulous students and providing technical assistance to watershed communities to monitor, protect and restore water quality.

I help local communities learn more about their watersheds through stream monitoring.  I oversee lab activities, including research, ALLARM's quality assurance/quality control program, and the Letort monitoring project.

My position involves overseeing ALLARM's shale gas volunteer monitoring program in Pennsylvania. This program is designed to train community members to monitor streams for early detection of pollution associated with gas extraction. I spend my time at ALLARM conducting workshops throughout the state, providing follow-up support to community monitors and mentoring ALLARM's student staff.

As the science advisor for ALLARM, most of my duties involve helping with the development of scientific protocols for monitoring programs. I also advise on the educational approaches for training and technical support.

I am a part-time Lab and part-time Shale-Gas Coordinator. As a Lab Coordinator I conduct tests on water samples from our monitors as part of the Quality Assurance/Quality Control program. As a Shale-Gas coordinator I research the various facets of shale gas extraction.

I am currently spearheading the Riparian Buffer project with my colleague Elise Minichiello. This project is working to convert a cow pasture into a vegetative buffer for the Yellow Breeches Creek. The site is located near the Dickinson College Farm.

As an Environmental Education Coordinator I seek to educate local youth and the community about water quality and aquatic resource monitoring. I also work with the storm water team, which helps the Carlisle community to improve its storm water management. I also am working independently on a research guide for hydraulic fracturing and natural gas.
