The Dickinson College Jazz Ensemble is the official Big Band of Dickinson College. Comprised of 15-20 students, the ensemble is a diverse cross section of various majors. The group performs music by great Big Band composers such as Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Thad Jones, and Quincy Jones. The Jazz Ensemble is especially proud to perform for the greater Carlisle community through the Bosler Public Library concerts each spring. Each year, we welcome auditions for saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and rhythm during Music Information Night, held the first Tuesday of each academic year. Students who wish to join the DCJE in the spring will be considered on an individual basis.
