Certain deductions (retirement, emeriti, annual giving contributions) may be updated directly in Self-Service Banner by employees.


To update an existing deduction:

1.  Log into the Gateway 

2.  Select the SSB icon for Self-Service Banner

3.  Select Employee Information

4.  Select Benefits, Deductions, and Gifts

5.  Select Deductions and Gifts to update Annual Giving. Select Retirement Plans to update Retirement or Emeriti plans.

6.  Click on the Update link below the Deduction and/or Gift you'd like to change

7.  Enter an Effective Date of Change (MM/DD/YYYY) that must be after your last paid date.

8.  Enter a Per Pay Deduction Amount

9.  Submit Changes


To Add a New Benefit or Deduction

1.  Log into the Gateway 

2.  Select the SSB icon for Self-Service Banner

3.  Select Employee Information

4.  Select Benefits, Deductions, and Gifts

5.  Select Deductions and Gifts to update Annual Giving. Select Retirement Plans to update Retirement or Emeriti plans.

6.  Select the link at the bottom of the page - Add a New Benefit or Deduction

7.  Choose a selection from the list of descriptions by clicking on the circle on the right under My Choice, then click on the Select Benefit link at the bottom of the page.

8.  Enter an Effective Date of Change (MM/DD/YYYY) that must be after your last paid date.

9.  Enter a Per Pay Deduction Amount

10.  Submit Changes
