Prospective Transfer Applicants

Prospective Transfer Applicants (Domestic)

If you are an international transfer applicant, you can find additional information here.

Please note that prospective transfer applicants from our Community College Partner Schools should have their application materials submitted by March 1.

Applicants for transfer admission who wish to apply for federal financial aid only, including the PLUS Loan (i.e. no need-based Dickinson grant assistance), need only complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  The FAFSA is free and there is no fee for its submission or processing. The FAFSA should be filed as soon as possible after January 1 and preferably before the April 1 fall transfer admissions deadline.  Applicants for the spring semester who have already filed a FAFSA for the current academic year should contact our office for further instructions.  Applicants applying for federal or state aid only (not Dickinson grant assistance) do not need to complete the PROFILE.

Applicants who are interested in applying for need-based grant aid from Dickinson must submit the CSS PROFILE by the appropriate admission deadline: April 1 for fall admission, November 1 for spring admission. If you are a spring transfer applicant and have already submitted the PROFILE to your current school for the current academic year, please contact College Scholarship Service to request that this information be sent to us.

Some families will need to submit supplemental forms in addition to the CSS PROFILE. If the applicant's natural parents are divorced, separated or never married, the non-custodial parent must complete the Non-Custodial Parent’s Statement (NCP). The NCP should be submitted online by the noncustodial parent. Detailed submission instructions are provided to the student during the PROFILE registration.

Parent and applicant tax returns should be submitted by April 15 (fall transfer applicants) and November 15 (spring transfer applicants).  Dickinson has contracted with College Board to collect tax returns and other verification documents through their IDOC service.  Applicants who have filed the PROFILE will receive an email from IDOC with instructions for competing this requirement.  Applicants for federal financial aid only should send signed copies of tax returns and W2's directly to the Financial Aid Office.

Students must reapply for need-based aid each year. In order to receive financial aid a student must maintain satisfactory academic progress, apply on time and continue to demonstrate financial need.
