Important Dates

FALL 2017 Semester

  • August 16: NEW international students arrive on campus
  • August 17-19: International Student Orientation
  • August 20-22: Pre-Orientation
  • August 23-27: New Student Orientation
  • August 26: Residence halls re-open for RETURNING students
    Early returns are approved only at the request of the College, when students are involved in necessary college business. Please make travel and flight plans accordingly, including hotel costs should you arrive to the US before this date.
  • August 28: Fall classes begin
  • October 15-18: Fall Pause
    - Residence Halls remain OPEN; meal plan remains ACTIVE
  • November 22-26: Thanksgiving Break
    - Residence Halls remain OPEN; meal plan is NOT ACTIVE – last meal is lunch on Nov. 21.
  • November 27: Deadline for Winter Break housing requests
  • December 11-16: Final Exams
  • December 17: Residence Halls CLOSE AT NOON FOR ALL STUDENTS for Winter Break
    -Students are expected to leave campus housing on this date or within 24 hours of their last exam, whichever comes sooner. Late stays are approved only at the request of the College, when students are involved in necessary college business. Please make travel and flight plans accordingly, including hotel costs if necessary)
    -Students needing transportation to the train/bus station or airport in Harrisburg can pay to use the shuttle service provided by the Department of Public Safety.      
  • December 17- January 21: Winter Break – Campus housing is CLOSED
    **Please make your plans early to be away from campus on these dates.  Very limited housing will be available in Todd House during this time (with no meal plan). Students anticipating this need may want to consider applying for housing in the Global Community House in spring 2017.  Assistance in finding alternate housing will be provided as needed during the fall semester, please contact CGSE. **

SPRING 2018 Semester

  • January 17: NEW international students arrive on campus

  • May 16: Residence Halls CLOSE AT NOON FOR ALL STUDENTS EXCEPT GRADUATING SENIORS. (Students are expected to leave campus housing on this date or within 24 hours of their last exam, whichever comes sooner.) Late stays are approved only at the request of the College, when students are involved in necessary college business. Please make travel and flight plans accordingly, including hotel costs if necessary.
  • May 20: Commencement; graduating seniors must leave campus housing no later than 7:00PM.
