Dickinson College has partnered with the American Collegiate Program at American University to be able to offer admission to a select group of international students on the condition that they enroll in and successfully complete the American Collegiate Program. Students who successfully complete the American Collegiate Program and earn a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least a 3.0 with no individual grades below a ‘C’ will continue their studies at Dickinson College.

Here are answers to some frequently asked questions:

Am I accepted to Dickinson? 

Dickinson is committing to admitting you after successful completion of the American Collegiate Program at American University. Successful completion will be measured by a 3.0 grade point average or better, with no individual grade below "C."

How long is the American Collegiate Program?

The American Collegiate Program is two or three terms and the length of the program is determined by a student’s English proficiency and success in the academic classes. 

How does this program work?

Students enroll in the American Collegiate Program in fall 2019, complete the American Collegiate Program in spring or summer of 2020, and make a smooth transition to begin their courses at Dickinson in Fall 2020.

What type of courses are offered through the American Collegiate Program and where are they offered?

The American Collegiate Program courses are American University courses offered onsite at American University in Washington, DC. You may review the courses offered through the American Collegiate Program online.

Will Dickinson accept the credits I earn in the American Collegiate Program toward completion of the Dickinson degree?

Yes. Academic courses taken as part of the American Collegiate Program have been articulated and will count towards the academic credits required for graduation at Dickinson.

Visit your Application Status Page, submit your Reply to American Collegiate Program Offer form and pay your enrollment deposit toward saving a space in the class which will enter Dickinson in the fall of 2020.
