The Liberal Arts track is intended for students with at least two years of college-level Spanish or Intermediate Portuguese (or the equivalent). The program is affiliated with the Catholic University of São Paulo (Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC) for Liberal Arts), and students have access there to a full range of courses in Latin American studies, social sciences, and culture and literature. All classes are taught in Portuguese. During the semester, students also take Portuguese language and Brazilian Realities classes at CIEE. Enrollment at the university is preceded by an intensive five-week language and culture program and orientation.
