Welcome! As a new Dickinson College employee we are aware you
may have questions regarding your place here among the Dickinson community. Below is
a list of a few of the most commonly asked questions new employees may have. If you
have a question that isn't covered here, you may find the answer in the Current
Employee Information section, and as always, feel free to contact us at hrservices@dickinson.edu if
you need further assistance.
What are the necessary forms
needed to receive pay?
For any employee to be paid, the following forms must be completed and returned to
Human Resource Services at least 2 weeks prior to your start date. Any forms
not turned in or turned in incomplete will result in a delay in your first pay check.
- W-4 - This form
is used for federal tax purposes. It can be changed
at any time by filling out a new form in either the Payroll
Office or Human Resource Services. Please use your
permanent address on this form as your W-2 will be sent
in January to the address listed on your W-4.
- I9 - This form
is required by the Department of Justice. When filling
out the form, please include identification from either
List A or List B AND C.
- Capital
Tax Collection Bureau - If you are a Pennsylvania resident
or will be residing in Pennsylvania while working at Dickinson,
we need to know what township/municipality/school district
you live in so that your local income tax can be distributed
to the correct taxing authorities.
- Direct
Deposit Form - All paychecks at Dickinson are deposited
into the bank of your choice. Please include a VOIDED
check so that no error is made in your account number or
bank routing number.
- Local
Services Tax - People employed in the state of Pennsylvania
are required to pay a maximum $52 Emergency and Municipal
Services Tax. This tax must be used for police, fire
or emergency services; road construction or maintenance;
or for the reduction of property taxes. Each municipality
sets their own rate, between $10 and $52. No person
will pay more than $52 in any calendar year, regardless
of how many Pennsylvania employers they have. Dickinson
College's EMST is $10. If you pay an EMST of $10 and
transfer to a municipality where the rate is higher, you
will have to pay the difference.
- Employment Application - Even if you submitted a resume,
the application is necessary once you've been hired.
- Confidential Information Sheet - Used for HR purposes only.
- For Full-Time Employees Only:
Flexcomp Form - This form, along with any applicable
enrollment forms, must be filled out and returned so that
we can process the amount of your pay, your benefits, and
your retirement elections.
Please contact Human Resource Services for a complete Enrollment
Packet if one was not mailed to you prior to your start date.
