The Cost of Knowledge with Timothy Gowers
The Cost of Knowledge

Join us for a candid conversation with Academic Spring activist Timothy Gowers, winner of this year’s Priestley Award. In 2012, Dr. Gowers issued a call for action that led to the “Cost of Knowledge” boycott of Elsevier signed by nearly 15,000 academics to date. We will discuss the impetus for the boycott, its results, the current state of academic publishing, and the open access movement.

All are welcome. Refreshments will be served.

Friday, March 27 - 10-11 a.m.
