Paradise Lost, Gained

The library has acquired a rare first edition of Milton's Paradise Lost, published in 1668, and the first illustrated edition of 1688. Prof. Carol Ann Johnston, who uses the Archives & Special Collections in teaching about Milton and his works, consulted with the library in the acquisition of the books, along with other works of Milton, and some of his contemporaries.

James Balog received the 2014 Sam Rose ’58 and Julie Walters Prize at Dickinson College for Global Environmental Activism. Balog has been selected as the One College One Community Fall 2014 theme, and will be on campus September 22 – 23. Students, faculty, alumni, and members of the community are encouraged to visit the library during general public hours to view the free exhibit.
