When Ralph Minker '47 temporarily left Dickinson in February 1943 for pilot training, he began a correspondence with his parents and two sisters that would continue throughout World War II. His personal experience during that time is now a book, Home Front - War Front: An American Family in WWII, edited by Rev. Minker, his wife Sandra O'Connell and WWII historian Harry Butowsky.
