Sixty Percent Growth in the Dickinson Annual Fund
If the endowment is the backbone of the college, then the Annual Fund is its heart and soul. It is the catalyst for creating Dickinson's future and fulfilling the college's destiny. In this campaign, we are asking all Dickinsonians to make giving to the Annual Fund their top priority.
Gifts to the Annual Fund have an immediate impact on the college's ability to reach toward its “First in America” goals. The immediacy of annual giving nurtures Dickinson's commitment to scholarship, academic programs, student life and campus upkeep. This fund's effect on Dickinson is so great that it would require an additional $66 million in endowment funds to equal the same level of support that the Annual Fund currently provides the College each year.
During this campaign, it is important for Dickinson to realize an increase in the level of individual gifts to the Annual Fund, but equally important is increasing the number of Dickinsonians who every year make a gift—of any size. In fact, participation in the Annual Fund is a vital component in Dickinson's success as a distinctive liberal-arts college.
The collective power of the Annual Fund makes all gifts—big and small—individually important. When donors give to the Annual Fund, they are banding together with fellow Dickinsonians to provide collective capital that becomes collective energy to fuel the college. These gifts demonstrate confidence in Dickinson from those who know it best—a crucial factor in gaining support from other donors and foundations.
A gift each year to the Annual Fund is one of the best ways for alumni and friends of the college to take responsibility for Dickinson's future.
