The Senior Class Gift Drive is an opportunity to give back what has been given to you, as well as an opportunity to pave the way for all future Dickinsonians. It’s a way of saying “Thank You” instead of just saying “Goodbye.” It’s a stepping stone into a lifelong relationship with your alma mater that recognizes the reality that receiving your degree as you walk down the steps of Old West is the beginning of life as a Dickinsonian, not the end. As you complete your time here, take a moment to look around and appreciate the fact that virtually everything you see, touch and participate in on campus has been funded in some way by those Dickinsonians that came before you. Now it is your turn to better the College for those future generations.

Your mission should you choose to accept it...

Deep in a bank vault there’s an unmarked safe-deposit box belonging to one William G. Durden ’71, president of Dickinson College, and his wife Elke. Inside that box, which is guarded by infrared lasers and a heat sensing shield, lie thousands of dollars—money we need for the Senior Class Gift Drive.
To get it, you’ll need to use all of your cunning, all of your skills, and all of your training.

You’ll need to—
—make a gift of any size to the Senior Class Gift Drive.
Wait a minute? That’s it? There’s no need for 100 feet of high-tension rope, a diamond-tipped drill or a full-body catsuit?
OK, fine. My way would have been more exciting, but apparently President and Mrs. Durden have pledged to just give the money to the Senior Class Gift Drive based on how many seniors make a gift.
- If 50 percent of the senior class makes a gift, they will give $1,000.
- If 60 percent of the senior class makes a gift, they will give $2,000.
- If 70 percent of the senior class makes a gift, they will give $3,000.
- If 80 percent of the senior class makes a gift, they will give $4,000.
And it doesn’t even matter what size your gift is. How much more possible can this mission get?
To complete your mission, make a gift online or send a check through campus mail to “Office of Annual Giving, Senior Class Gift Drive.” For more information, contact Todd Fowler at 717-254-8914 or fowlert@dickinson.edu. If you’ve already made a gift, thanks so much and don’t forget to encourage your friends to do the same. |
