III. An Excellent Comprehensive Faculty: Program Endowments

$10,000,000Center for Excellence in Global Education or in Sustainability & the Environment: A named endowment that supports one of Dickinson's premier curricular initiatives and helps define the distinctiveness of a Dickinson
education.
$5,000,000International Program Center Endowment: A named endowed fund that supports staffing and program operations for one of Dickinson's academic year or semesterlong overseas programs. The college now supports 12 international centers.
$1,500,000Endowed Faculty Chair: Endowment for faculty chairs
is used toward salary and research support for a faculty position.
$1,500,000Directorships for The Clarke Forum, the Community Studies Center and the Center for Sustainability & the Environment: The directors of these initiatives are faculty members who provide leadership for and administer each center's programs. An endowment will be used for salary and benefits for the director.
$1,000,000 ALLARM (Alliance for Aquatic Resource Monitoring) Program Directorship: An endowment will help support the salary and benefits for the director of this award-
winning, nationally known component of our environmental studies program.
$1,000,000International Program Directorship: An endowment will help support the salary and benefits for the director of one of our overseas programs.
$1,000,000 Clarke Forum Program Fund: An endowed program fund will support lectures, symposia and other activities of The Clarke Forum.
$1,000,000Community Studies Center (CSC) Endowment: An endowed program fund will support the annual program activities of the CSC, such as student-faculty research.
$1,000,000ALLARM Program Fund: An endowment to support
the activities and student workers of this outstanding program.
$1,000,000Academic Diversity Program: An endowed fund will support academic initiatives to make diversity a frequent and consistent component of the curriculum.
$750,000International Fieldwork Program: An endowed fund to underwrite the extra staffing and travel costs connected with Global Mosaic programs, and similar integrated international courses will allow Dickinson to establish a more regular rotation of these courses and expand the
opportunities, allowing more students to participate.
$750,000 Community Fieldwork Program: An endowed fund will facilitate planning for a regular sequence of the American Mosaic Semester and similar intensively focused course offerings, helping to provide expanded opportunities for students and greater visibility for the college for this distinctive curricular approach.
$500,000Faculty Sabbatical Fund: An endowment fund will provide permanent support for sabbatical supplements for the most competitive faculty sabbatical projects.

Faculty Start-up Fund: A named fund will provide the "start-up" money often needed by a newly hired faculty member to establish his or her research program, equip a laboratory, support travel to collections or conduct fieldwork-based research.
$250,000 Curriculum Innovation Fund: An endowment gift will provide funds to underwrite permanently the college's "seed money" grants for the very best curriculum innovation projects selected through a highly competitive review process.
$100,000 Faculty Summer Research Fund: An endowment gift will provide funds to underwrite permanently faculty research grants and summer scholar awards for the very best faculty research projects selected through a highly competitive review process.
$100,000Student-Faculty Research Fund (department or discipline specific): A named fund that provides annual support for a collaborative student-faculty research team investigating a question in a specific discipline or department.
$50,000Faculty Publication Grant Fund: A named fund that will provide competitive grants to faculty members to underwrite the expenses involved in publishing their scholarly work.
$25,000Student-Faculty Research Fund (general): A named
fund that enhances the endowment fund supporting
collaborative student-faculty research teams for an eight- to 10-week project, generally in the summer.
$25,000Campus Academic Publication Fund: An endowed fund to promote annual operating support to help fund one or more of the college's academic journals, such as Sirena, Frontiers, Dickinson Review and Clarke Forum proceedings.
$25,000 Student Internship Fund (general): A named fund that provides a stipend and/or expenses to support a student internship experience, making this type of opportunity more accessible to all students.
