Financial Aid Early Estimator 2008-09
Limitations and Cautions
This calculator uses a formula that is similar to the formula used by College Board's PROFILE financial aid application ("Institutional Methodology"). Dickinson College uses PROFILE results to determine eligibility for Dickinson need-based grants and to estimate eligibility for federal aid ("Federal Methodology"). Final federal eligibility will depend on the results of your Free Application for Federal student Aid (FAFSA).
Although merit scholarships are awarded by the Dickinson College Admission Committee and are not considered in this worksheet, the financial aid office will include any such awards as a part of final financial aid award packages. Merit scholarships awarded by the college may reduce or replace need-based grant assistance.
The following students will not be able to calculate an accurate estimate of their family contribution via this estimator:
- International students living outside of the US, since income information is based on US tax returns and other US income and asset documents.
- Students whose families own or share in ownership of a business, corporation, or farm.
- Students whose natural parents are separated, divorced, or never married.
- Independent students.
Please remember that the estimator you are about to complete is not a financial aid application. Dickinson College is not promising that you will receive financial aid. You must be admitted to the College, submit the required financial aid applications on time, and be determined to be eligible in order to receive financial aid.
