Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Kosher Food but Were Afraid to Ask: Part Two

September 19, 2019

“Kosher at Dickinson” takes a peek behind the scenes in the Asbell Center kitchen so students can learn what it means to prepare kosher food for the campus community.

What is kosher food, anyway? How often does the rabbi bless the food? Is a bison burger kosher? Why might I be interested in kosher food, and how can I try it at Dickinson? Rabbi Marley Weiner, director of Dickinson’s Milton B. Asbell Center for Jewish Life, has heard all of these questions and more. Lucky for us, she’s happy to spill the beans. Weiner will answer your burning questions (no food pun intended!) about kosher food, on campus and beyond. All students who are curious about kashrut, the practice of eating kosher, are invited to attend. A vegetarian lunch will be provided.
