Associate Professor of Art Todd Arsenault ’99, will lead a tour for us through the museum’s visionary and enchanting wonders.
The American Visionary Art Museum seeks to draw attention to America's history as a mecca for forward-looking innovators, optimists, dreamers and doers – highlighting the sense that America is at its best when we actively remember that many of our greatest citizens were very much self-taught, self-made pioneers. The museum exhibits explore a wide range of topics, including the impact of technology on everyday life, the power of story-telling, race and gender. It has been designated by Congress as America's official national museum, education center, and repository for intuitive, self-taught artistry. Professor Arsenault will discuss artists working outside of the mainstream and how this museum in particular has been so important to his work over the years. We hope you’ll join us for this free, family-friendly event. Please register by Wednesday, March 21.
