The Factory Seconds Brass Trio will perform a concert of works for brass, including a piece by Dickinson Professor of Music Robert Pound.
The Factory Seconds Brass Trio consists of Jack Sutte, Trumpet, Jesse McCormick, Horn, and Richard Stout, Trombone. Each occupies the Second Chair position in their respective section with The Cleveland Orchestra, and all are faculty members at Baldwin Wallace Conservatory. Established in 2012, the group brings a distinctive voice into brass chamber music. Transcribing and performing a continually growing body of early music and seeking out collaborations with composers have been two key areas of focus for FSBT. Factory Seconds has premiered numerous works by a range of composers including David Loeb, Clint Needham and Robert Pound. Sunday’s performance will include a Suite of Early Music arranged by Jack Sutte; Jacques Arcadelt’s Chansons from 1554; gravlax by Matt Barbier; Robert Marek’s Trio for Brass; Paul Hindemith’s 4 Fugues from Ludus Tonalis; and the stillness of killing by Dickinson Professor of Music Robert Pound.
