Faculty pianist Eun Ae Baik-Kim will be joined by violinist Xi Chen in a recital featuring the music of Beethoven, Smyth, Kim and Ravel.
The duo will perform Beethoven’s Sonata No. 2 in A Major and Maurice Ravel’s contrasting Sonata, inspired by the blues. The program also includes two lesser-known, yet important works: Sonata by English female composer Ethel Smyth and "Myrang Arirang" by Korean composer Han Ki Kim. Xi Chen and Eun Ae Baik-Kim would like to dedicate this recital to their teachers, Helen Kwalwasser and Harvey Wedeen.
