RecycleMania 2007!

January 28th -- April 7th

RecycleMania is a friendly competition among college and university recycling programs in the United States that provides the campus community with a fun, proactive activity in waste reduction.

How'd we do?

* For the Grand Champion competition (overall increase in recycling and decrease in waste) we ranked 48/77 , with a 19.72% recycling rate

* In the Waste Minimization Competition (fewest pounds of recyclables & solid waste), we placed 35/66 , creating 100.44 pounds of waste per person

* In the Gorilla Competition (most pounds of recyclables), we placed 113/178 with 57,044 pounds of recyclables in total

* In the Bottles & Cans Competition , we placed 11/112 , recycling 10.24 pounds of bottles & cans per person a week (Which means 90 pounds of that aforementioned 100 from the Waste Minimization contest is trash . )
