Mesa de Español y português
The Mesa de español is an opportunity to speak Spanish in an informal setting with your peers as well as with the teaching assistants from abroad. A faculty member usually dines with the students so that they can aquaint themselves with the professor. The Mesa de español meets at supper time most Wednesdays throughout the semester. Students are encouraged to purchase their meal and to take it to the assigned room in the Hub for an hour or so of companionship. The Mesa de español schedule for Fall 2008 follows:

The Mesa de português is also an opportunity to meet and speak with other Portuguese speakers. In the past, members of the community who speak or would like to practice speaking Portuguese attend the Mesa de português. A faculty member usually dines with the students who gather at supper time for an hour or so of companionship. The schedule for Spring 2009 follows:
