ADDITIONAL PHYSICAL EDUCATION INFORMATION - FALL 2004

1. All students must complete four (4) blocks of Physical Education to fulfill requirements for graduation. Physical Education blocks are in addition to the 32 courses required for graduation and do no receive academic credit.

2. All students must report to class during the first week to be informed of attendance regulations. Failure to report could result in student receiving an "FA" for the class. Students will receive a maximum of 1 Physical Education (P.E.) block per activity, even those meeting for a full semester.

3. As the P.E. requirement is designed to promote diversity of participation, a student receiving a block of P.E. for participation in intercollegiate athletics must enroll in P.E. activities that are different from his/her intercollegiate sport.

4. You may select only 2 blocks of P.E. during Registration period. Additional blocks may be added during Schedule Adjustment Period and Add/Drop.

5. All P.E. courses will be permanently listed on your transcript - including failures.

6. "W" grades cannot be used for P.E. classes, per Faculty legislation 4/29/94.

FIRST BLOCK
Classes begin on Monday, August 30, 2004 and continue through Friday, October 15, 2004.

Add/Drop for first block P.E. will occur Monday, August 30, 2004, through Friday, September 3, 2004.

First block P.E. courses can be identified on the Physical Education section of the Course Offerings web site by selecting the link marked "Physical Education/First Block". Any course number ending in 1 is a first block course. Example: PHSED 831 or PHSED 071

SECOND BLOCK
Classes begin on Wednesday, October 20, 2004 and continue through Friday, December 10, 2004.

Add/Drop for second block P.E. will occur Monday, August 30, through Friday, October 22, 2004.

Second block P.E. courses can be identified on the Physical Education section of the Course Offerings web site by selecting the link marked "Physical Education/Second Block". Any course number ending in 2 is a second block course. Example: PHSED 362 or PHSED 922

FULL SEMESTER BLOCK
These activities must be taken for the full semester and earn 1 P.E. block. In addition, you are permitted to register for 1 additional activity in either the first or second block.

Full block P.E. courses can be identified on the Physical Education section of the Course Offerings web site by selecting the link marked "Physical Education/Full Block". Any course number ending in 3 is a second block course. Example: PHSED 183 or PHSED 303.
