Jeb Wallace, horn, pursues an active and diverse career as a performer and teacher. He has performed on four continents at such venues as Carnegie Hall, Verizon Hall, Tokyo Opera City, Dachstein-Tauren Hall, Severance Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and Merkin Concert Hall. Jeb has appeared as an orchestral performer with numerous ensembles including the American Symphony, New World Symphony, Richmond Symphony, Harrisburg Symphony, New Haven Symphony, I Musici Montreal, Dallas Wind Symphony, Camerata New York, and with the Cleveland Orchestra while a fellow at the Blossom Music Festival. He held the position of Third horn with the Erie Philharmonic from 1999-2002.
Jeb is also a strong proponent of contemporary music and frequently works in collaboration with acclaimed composers such as Tristan Murail, Augusta Read Thomas, Evan Ziporyn, Krzysztof Penderecki, Aaron Jay Kernis, Benedict Mason, and Michael Gordon. Recently, he performed with Alarm Will Sound, Mostly Modern Chamber Music Society, New Music New Haven, Stony Brook Contemporary Chamber Players and with TACTUS at The Bang on a Can Marathon at the World Financial Center.
A dedicated teacher, Jeb currently serves on the faculties of Dickinson College and Susquehanna University. He previously held positions on the Pre-College faculties at The Cleveland Institute of Music, Stony Brook University, and the Williamsburg Summer Youth Orchestra Festival. He studied with William Purvis, Eli Epstein, and Gregory Hustis.
Jeb has also held numerous summer fellowships, leading to performances at festivals such as Sarasota, Norfolk, Roundtop, Music Masters in Kazusa (Japan), Kent-Blossom, and Music Academy of the West. |
