Steve Strawley holds a B.S. in Music Education and M.M in Performance from West Chester University. He is currently the band director at Iron Forge Educational Center and Yellow Breeches Middle School in the South Middleton School District.

Steve has served as a clinician in area school districts, colleges, and music studios, teaching brass techniques and jazz improvisation. His compositions include multiple works for big band, brass quintet, and concert band.

He has appeared as a guest soloist with the Monterey Community Orchestra, the Heart of Carolina Jazz Ensemble, and the West Shore Symphony. He currently freelances with jazz combos, chamber groups, brass quintets and area big bands, including the Dickinson College Faculty Jazz Ensemble. Steve works with the Buzz Jones Big Band, the Herm Miller Orchestra, Big Band Nostalgia, and the Bob Clay Orchestra. He also works as a pit musician for regional theaters which includes the American Music Theater and the Hershey Theatre.
