Students who are unable to come to campus for an on-campus interview or audition are welcome to submit supplemental materials for review as part of their admissions materials. Students should follow the guidelines below in order to have their materials properly reviewed.

1. Students planning to submit materials must first fill out the online Dickinson College Music Department Form. The Music Department will not consider materials until a student has completed this online form. (Note: Dickinson uses the Common Application, but students should be aware that filling out the Common Application Supplement for additional materials does not satisfy our music department review procedures. Only students who appear on the online database will have their materials considered.)
2. Students should send their supplement materials with their college application to the Dickinson College Admissions Office, not to the music department or performance faculty directly. These materials must be logged in as part of a student’s application in order so that a record appears within the student’s admissions file.
3. Students are encouraged to send the following materials in support of their application:

• Audio Recordings and/or DVDs: Students should follow repertory guidelines (instrumental and vocal) for these materials. Students may also wish to enclose a copy of their musical resume as a supplement to the recording.
• Original Composition Scores: Students may submit copies of original compositions scores for review by our composition faculty. Students should not send originals, as materials will not be returned at the end of the process.
• Scholarly Research Papers: Students may submit copies of research papers on a musical topic for review by our music history faculty.

Audition and interview assessments are confidential and shared with the College Admissions Committee as a general recommendation from the music faculty. This information is considered in conjunction with your entire application to Dickinson College, and it is the admissions office that makes all final decisions in regard to acceptance to the college. The results of your auditions allow the admissions office to know more about you and your talents; they do not figure into the need-based financial aid process. As part of your admission application materials, you should clearly indicate your music involvements.
