The Neuberger Prize is awarded each year to the senior student who has contributed the most to the College through the performing arts, and to the Carlisle community through volunteer service while fulfilling an important leadership role and maintaining an outstanding academic record. Selection of the award recipient is overseen by the Office of Student Services, Division of Educational Services, and Student Affairs.
 The Weiss Prize is awarded each year to a student or students majoring in the departments of English (Creative Writing emphasis), Art & Art History, Music, or Theatre and Dance. The prize is awarded by a committee chaired by the Dean of the College and consisting of the chairs of these departments on the basis of an application at the end of the junior year for a senior year project in the creative arts. The award is administered as a budget in the following year to support the project. A public presentation of the project is required within that year, and any physical work resulting from the project must be submitted either in its original or photographed form to the College Library.
This award was established by Barbara Norton Eakey on the occasion of the world premiere of her children's musical, “TRUST-T, An Interactive Musical for Friendship” on April 4, 1998, in Rubendall Recital Hall. The award consists of a cash prize of $100, and is presented to that rising senior at Dickinson who, in the first three years, has made outstanding contributions to the musical life of the College through performance, composition, and/or group leadership. The TRUST-T award is voted by the faculty of the Music Department, and through a letter from the President of the College, is presented by the Chair of the Music Department at the appropriate occasion in the spring semester. |
