Majors act as the students leaders in the department. They are regularly called upon by the chair, faculty, and staff of the department to contribute with regard to faculty/staff evaluations, department policy, and department events (concerts, guest lectures, Music Audition Night). As student leaders, Majors will be active members of the Student Music Society. These activities together comprise a service component of the Major requirements.
