APPLICATION INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS

All K-12 classroom teachers in public, private, parochial, and charter schools, as well as home-schooling parents are eligible to participate. Other K-12 school personnel, including administrators, substitute teachers, classroom paraprofessionals, and librarians, are also eligible to participate, subject to available space. Preference will be given to those who are new to the Landmarks program.

Please note that no individual may apply to or participate in more than two Landmarks workshops. For a list of other NEH workshops for summer 2008, please go to http://www.neh.gov/projects/landmarks-school.html

Applications must be postmarked no later than March 17, 2008

Please submit the following for a completed application:

  • Three copies of the official NEH application cover sheet, available online at www.neh.gov/online/education/participants/ Please indicate on the application cover sheet your first and second choices of Workshop dates.
  • Three copies of your resume
  • Three copies of a single page, double-spaced application essay that briefly explains your professional background and interest in the subject and outlines any special perspectives, skills, or experiences that you might bring to the sessions.
  • One letter of reference from the principal or department head of your teaching institution, or the head of a home schooling association in support of your application.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept any applications by fax, email or telephone and the postmark deadline of March 17, 2008 is final.

Successful applicants will be notified of their selection by April 16, 2008, and they will have until April 23, 2008 to accept or decline the offer.
