This summer I decided to do something different: escape from the cold winter of Uruguay and take part in one of the most career defining experiences of my life. I came to Washington, DC to intern at the OAS (Organization of American States) in the Secretariat for Political Affairs. My experience was phenomenal, because I actually figured out what I want to do for the rest of my life. Sadly, my newly discovered career does not directly relate to my internship, but it definitely surfaced because of it. I decided I wanted to be a writer, and would not have come to that conclusion without my internship experience. So, I thank the OAS for everything, and I thank DC for being the city where it all came around. And of course, I am delighted to have been able to do this, and to experience the life of a city in which I found myself a part of by the end of my experience.
