Director of Counseling Services
Davis C. Tracy, Ph.D.

Education:
Dr. Tracy, a licensed psychologist, received his Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Tennessee after earning a Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor's degree in Social Psychology from Lehigh University. His research focused on self efficacy. Since 1982, he has served as the Director of Counseling Services at Dickinson.

Clinical Interests:
Relationship Difficulties, Depression, Anxiety, Panic Disorders, and Family Conflict.

Presentations and Workshops:
Dr. Tracy is available for workshops designed to assist males in the development of healthy consensual sexual relationships. He is also skilled at facilitating outdoor adventure based team building exercises.

 

 

Associate Director
Linda M. Chalk, Ph.D .

Education:
Dr. Chalk, a licensed psychologist, received both her Doctorate and Master's degrees in Counseling Psychology from the University of Notre Dame after earning a Bachelor's degree (Cum Laude) in Psychology from Kalamazoo College. Her research focuses on women's career development.

Clinical Interests:
Gender Issues, Relationship Issues, Couples Counseling, Gay/Lesbian Issues, Career Counseling, and Multicultural Issues. Dr. Chalk also co-directs the sexual assault prevention education program at Dickinson.

Presentations and Workshops:
Communication Skills Enhancement, Relationship Skills, Multicultural Issues, Eating Disorders, and Sexual Assault Prevention.

 

 

Associate Director
John-Paul Checkett, Ph.D.

Education: 
Dr. Checkett, a licensed psychologist, received both his Doctorate and Master's degrees in Counseling Psychology from the University of Notre Dame after earning Bachelor's degrees (Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) in Psychology and English Literature from the same institution. His research focuses on the relation between life-affirming beliefs and adolescent suicide.

Clinical Interests:
Depression and Suicide, Adjustment to College, Family Conflict, Identity Issues, Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse, Multicultural Concerns, and Gay/Lesbian Issues. Dr. Checkett's responsibilities also include substance abuse evaluation and alcohol education. He also co-directs the sexual assault prevention education program at Dickinson.

Presentations and Workshops:
Sexual Assault Prevention for Males and Females, Institutional Responses to Sexual Assault in Higher Education, Guidelines for Faculty for Responding to Psychiatric Disabilities, Depression, Adolescent Suicide, Test Anxiety, and Communication Skills.

 

 

Staff Clinician,
Kimberly Bridgman,

Education:
Ms. Bridgman, a licensed clinical social worker, earned her Master's degree in social work from Smith College. She earned a Bachelor's degree in psychology from Penn State University with a concentration in Women's Studies. Kim is also a disaster relief specialist for the American Red Cross.

Clinical Interests:
Acute post-trauma and crisis intervention, disaster relief, bereavement and loss. Eating disorders and substance abuse. Chronic mental illness and medical social work. Multiculturalism and gender issues.


 

 

Staff Clinician,
Caitlin Chun-Kennedy Romero,

Education:
Ms. Chun-Kennedy Romero, a national certified counselor, received her Master's degree in Counseling from Shippensburg University. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a concentration in Women's and Gender Studies from Kenyon College.

Clinical Interests:
Relationship issues, Survivors of Trauma, Depression and Suicide, LGBT and Multicultural issues.


 

 

Staff Clinician
Jane A. Yeatter, LPC

Jane Yeatter

Education:
Ms. Yeatter is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and is also Certified as a Sex Offender Treatment Provider. She received a Master of Human Services from Lincoln University and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Millersville University. Her Bachelor's degree was obtained at Elizabethtown College with a major in Sociology and a certificate in Social Work.

Clinical Interests:
Sexual behavior and offending; survivors of sexual abuse; separation, grief, and loss; relationship building and issues; and adjustment and coping issues.

Presentations and Workshops:
Sexuality education; sexual abuse; and understanding and manageing sexual acting out and offending behavior.

 

 

Kimberly W. Zahm, M.A.
Kim Zahm

Education:
Kim has earned Masters degrees in Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology and English Language and Literature from the University of Minnesota, where she is a doctoral student.  Her undergraduate degree (in English, with a Psychology minor) is from Stetson University. She has worked with undergraduate and graduate students at college counseling centers around the Twin Cities.  Her research focuses on supervision and professional development for counselors, including genetic counselors.

Clinical Interests:
Relationship difficulties; adjustment, including anxiety and depression; academic performance; stress; LGBT, multicultural, and gender issues.

   

Staff Psychiatrist
Paul A. Conti, M.D.

Dr. Conti is Board-certified in both General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. His clinical interests include anxiety, mood disorders, attention deficit disorder, and related school and behavioral problems. He is also trained in the use of clinical hypnosis. In addition to his private practice work, Dr. Conti is Medical Director of Children's Services at Pinnacle Behavioral Health Services, and serves as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Milton S. Hershey School of Medicine.

 

 

Staff Psychiatrist
Cinda A. Liggon, M.D.

Dr. Liggon works in both community mental health and college student health centers. She strives to provide comprehensive evaluations and follow-up visits, educating students on their diagnosis and treatment options. She takes a holistic approach to psychiatry, including lifestyle, mind-body, nutrition, and herbal interventions. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Holistic Medicine.

 

 

Staff Psychiatrist
J. Scott Trayer, D.O. 

Dr. Trayer is a Board-eligible general and child and adolescent psychiatrist who completed his training and fellowship at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Dr. Trayer works with children, adolescents, and adults, providing medication management as well as therapy. He also specializes in the treatment of developmental disorders and affective illness, women's health issues, infertility, and adoption. Dr. Trayer has worked in public mental health sectors as a consultant for multiple area agencies.

   

Senior Administrative Assistant
Barbara D. Gardner

Barbara Gardner is the Senior Administrative Assistant for the Counseling Center. She manages the office and coordinates the schedules for staff clinicians and psychiatrists.
