Mission & Values

     The Office of Religious Life and Community Services facilitates Dickinson College's commitment      to engaging the world through service in the larger community.

           Our Mission is:

To provide opportunities, access to, and information about community service opportunities and community needs.

•To assist volunteers in reflection upon and integration of experiences and knowledge gained in service, on the impact and transformation of service to others.

     The Office of Religious Life and Community Services recognizes and celebrates the      accomplishments of individuals and groups within the Dickinson community who regularly engage      in community and volunteer service.

    Explore and expand personal religious beliefs while respecting the spiritual practices and traditions of others.

    Respect, engage, and explore the manifold dimensions of public life, regardless of defining factors.

    Establish and sustain a vibrant community of place, personal relationships, and common interests on campus and in surrounding communities.

    Demonstrate the obligations and responsibilities of higher education by advocating justice issues of fairness, impartiality and equality while addressing systematic social and environmental issues.

    Participate intentionally as a citizen in the democratic process actively engaging in direct service.

    Develop international understanding that enables successful participation in a global society, both locally and abroad.
