The Common Hour was established as a pause in the weekly schedule when the Dickinson community can gather to discuss topics of interest to the entire community and enjoy programs that enrich our intellectual and cultural lives.
During this time, no entity or individual on campus can reserve facilities, call a meeting or conduct other programming. Thursdays at noon are reserved for this type of activity.
The Clarke Forum for Contemporary Issues oversees the scheduling of programs which range from concerts to discussion of topics of immediate importance locally and internationally.
Each Thursday at noon throughout both semesters, the programs are followed by a buffet lunch and the opportunity for informal conversation among students, faculty, and administrators.
