Older Toddler Busy Bee Room (2 – 3 years)

Teacher: Jody Geiling, A.A. ECE
Date of hire: August 1992

Assistant Teacher: Susan Shank, H.S. Diploma, related college coursework
Date of hire: August 1996

In this room, you will notice learning centers, such as a library area, a dramatic play area, a circle area and a puzzles, blocks and small toy area. The Busy Bees focus on continued language development, social skills and self-help skills. The children learn to speak in complete sentences, use the toilet and eat independently. The curriculum is based on themes that incorporate all areas of development into the topic. You will notice that the teachers continue to read stories, engage the children in beginning number understanding, and help the children to develop an understanding of sharing, cooperation, and taking turns. The children sing, dance, rest, play alone or in groups and get lots of nurturing.
