Art & Art History Program

Studio Art

The studio program, encompassing instruction in the principles of two- and three-dimensional art, puts the student in direct contact with artistic thinking, with its mixture of disciplined technical and formal decision making, and open ended, inventive experimentation. Areas of special emphasis are drawing and painting, ceramics and sculpture, and graphics and photography, each of which poses its own challenges and provides its own remarkable satisfactions.
