ADVISEE responsibility

Help the advisee to evaluate his or her situation. 

Ask good questions.

Provide advisor with all the facts

Discuss the options.

Direct the student to the sources (Academic Policies and Procedures in the Bulletin on line, etc.) for information.

Make referrals to sources for specific advice and support. (Internship Office, Global Ed, Counseling, etc.)

 

Read the Bulletin, Registrar’s messages, announcements from Internship Office, Global Education, etc.

 

Talk with appropriate offices, seek specific advising.

Does the student fully understand?  Is he or she reading the right information, and all of it?

Ask questions.

Discuss the consequences.

Make a decision, choice, plan.

Take appropriate action e.g. file the form; make a phone call; make an appointment.
