1. Announcements

IT Careers for Computer Science & Math Majors

Date: Friday, April 18

Time: 3pm

Location: East Asian Studies Room, Waidner-Spahr Library

Description: Computer science and Math majors are invited to meet with panelists to learn about various career opportunities available through their course of study. Meet a panel of presenters who will talk about their career decisions and what they do now in their jobs. You will also have time to network individually with the panelists.  Students should sign up in DickinsonConnect by Thursday, April 17.

Description: Kimberly Dozier, CBS Reporter, will discuss her career and talk about breaking into broadcasting and opportunities for college graduates.  Signup is REQUIRED. University of East Anglia Graduate Linkage Program Information Session

Attention Seniors

The Career Center has worked with many of you throughout the past four years and we are excited to hear about your post-graduation plans!  To submit your information, please go to www.dickinsonconnect.com and click on the link to “Seniors – Post Graduation Plans” on the left side of the page.  If you’re moving to a new city after graduation and looking for a roommate, or are maybe just curious to see who else plans to move to the same city, e-mail Laura Kilko (kilkol@dickinson.edu) with your name, gender, city, e-mail address, and phone number, and indicate if you are interested in having a roommate.  You will then receive an e-mail with the names and contact information of other students who are planning to move to the same city.

2. Financial Assistance for Internships

Internship Grants

Deadline: April 18 at 12 noon.  Late applications cannot be considered – this includes both the application packet and the internship transcript notation registration.
Description: Dickinson students have the opportunity to apply for a grant to assist them in completing summer internships. With the rising cost of living and with internships often being unpaid, the College would like to assist when possible. For students doing low-paid or unpaid internships during the summer.

3. Full Time Position

McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP – New Matter Intake Coordinator

Description: This person will work with other members of the Conflicts department to review, analyze and process new legal matters for the firm.  This work includes detailed research into company structure and ownership and direct communication with firm lawyers and other personnel.  Candidate must be able to work independently, have an understanding of legal conflicts, and must be able to work on complex matters in a fast-paced environment. Extreme attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication, analytical skills, and a professional work ethic are required.  Candidates who are able to begin before 6/1 preferred.

Experience: College degree and advanced knowledge of the use of the Internet, e-mail, LEXIS and MS Word required.

Patuxent Research Refuge – PAID – Summer – Laurel, MD
