Internships Defined A Dickinson internship is “a closely monitored applied experience in a professional setting, with definite learning objectives incorporating reflection on and integration of theories and concepts with practice.” Transcript Notation Benefits and Criteria Internship Policies To assist students in registering for an Internship Transcript Notation: 1) they have already secured an internship, and Credit for internships: In some cases, students may be required to receive credit for internships for their major. Additionally, there may be times that the internship site may require credit. Students in these situations should register for an independent study. Finally, some study abroad programs allow internship credit. This will be handled through Global Ed. Students studying at The Washington Center will also be able to get internship credit.
