Senior Jenn Chmielewski presents at ROWS Symposium

Jenn Chmielewski ('10) presented the results of her study "Lesbian Women's Experiences of Body Image" at the annual Research on Women by Students (ROWS) symposium.  Jenn completed her work as an honors research project under the direction of Professor Megan Yost.
Each year, the President's Commission for Women and the Women's and Gender Studies department sponsor the event, which highlights student research on topics related to gender.  The disciplines from which students presented vary; this year's presentations ranged from eco-feminism to analyses of social justice issues.

Grad School: Questions and Answers!

For students considering graduate school, please attend the Graduate School Panel Presentation on Tuesday, April 13th from 5-6 pm in Kaufman 179.  Panelists will discuss the application process, suggestions for how to make the decision about which programs to apply to and ultimately attend, and answer your questions about pursuing a doctorate or master's degree in psychology.

Undergraduate and Graduate Programs at UEA

On Friday, April 23, Mr. Simon Hampton, a psych professor at the University of East Anglia (England) will speak about the undergraduate psychology program (for those considering studying abroad) and the graduate psych program at UEA. The gradaute linkage agreement between Dickinson and UEA will be discussed.  The talk will be from 3-4 pm in Kaufman 178.

Congratulations to senior Jenn Chmielewski, whose research during an internship last summer at UConn was recently published in an article she co-authored.  The article, "Post-traumatic growth: Finding positive meaning in cancer survivorship moderates the impact of intrusive thoughts on adjustment in younger adults," was published in the journal Psycho-Oncology.
