This Friday (April 16^th), please join Spectrum in the observance of the 2010 Day of Silence, a student-led national event that brings attention to anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment in schools. Students from middle school to college take some form of a vow of silence in an effort to encourage schools and classmates to address the problem of anti-LGBT behavior. The event is designed to illustrate the silencing effect of this bullying and harassment on LGBT students and those perceived to be LGBT. 

If you are unable to take a vow of silence on Friday due to the nature of your job or life duties, please consider other ways that you and those around you can support the cause.  Thank you!

The Elm Street Neighborhood Revitalization program is organizing a cleanup day this Saturday, April 17 in honor of the 40^th anniversary of Earth Day. Volunteers from the East Side Neighbors Association, the Carlisle Alliance Church, the Downtown Neighborhood Connection and Dickinson College will be reporting either to Hope Station or to the parking lot of the Carlisle Alliance Church (237 E. North Street) depending on which is easiest. We will start at 1:00 PM and finish up at 3:00 PM, but if someone can only give 30 minutes or an hour, they would be very welcome.

So, If you know anyone who would be interested in joining us in a spring cleaning, please have them contact me.
