Bagel Brunch and Presentation by Lieutenant Colonel Doug Cherry

Lieutenant Colonel Doug Cherry from the Army War College will give a presentation centering on Peacekeeping Operations in the Sinai. He will also answer questions on any aspect of the Army, including current events, the US military and their relationship with the US government.

 

Lt. Col. Cherry has over twenty-six years of services. His areas of expertise are:

 

1)    Force development: The determination of requirements for future Army Force Structure and the design of those organizations.

2)    Combat development: The determination of requirements for future weapons systems/equipment – specializing in ground combat and logistics systems.

3)    Army strategist: Responsible to ensure that future Army plans (primarily force structure and material) are consistent with our national priorities as described in such documents as the National Security Strategy and the National Military Strategy.

American Judaism's Past & Present Scorecard

Through the history and metaphor of sports Jeffrey S. Gurock, author of "Judaism's Encounter with American Sports," explores issues of Jewish acceptance, integration and identity in America during the 20th and early 21st century. He will examine how a foreign cultural force, called "athleticism," entered into, competed with, and transformed Jewish life in the United States. There will be a catered meal following the lecture.
