Robert Pound, professor of composition, conducting, and theory, will have two premiers with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, as conductor and composer in April and May, 2011. Pound has been commissioned to compose a fanfare for the May 19-21 concert series. On April 29, Pound will conduct the orchestra for a special concert “Symphony On The Sand,” which will feature works by Shostakovich, Verdi, Morton Gould, and others.
