The Economics Department would like to introduce Jonathan
Cogliano, who will be joining us the Fall 2013 semester. He is
finishing his Ph.D. in Economics at the New School for Social
Research, and is thrilled to be joining the Department of Economics
at Dickinson College. His primary areas of teaching expertise are
political economy, macroeconomics, microeconomics, the history of
economic thought, and using computer simulations to explore complex
economic problems. His dissertation research focuses on applying
modern ideas and tools, like computer simulations, to issues in the
political economy of advanced capitalist economies. He also
conducts research on the macroeconomics of climate change that
explores potential avenues for avoiding a climate catastrophe.
Prior to studying at the New School, he completed a B.A. in
Economics with a minor in Mathematics at the University of
Massachusetts, Amherst.
