Asbell Center Common Hour with Sara Felder on February 18, 2010

Juggler, comedian and performance artist Sara Felder brings a fresh perspective, witty monologues and very sharp knives to her unique performance.  With circus tricks and a queer sensibility, Sara's show juggles Jewish traditions, GLBT issues and American Life.  Common Hour performance starts at 12:00 pm at the Weiss Center on Thursday, February 18th.

Multi-Cultural Seder on March 8, 2010

The Multi-Cultural Seder will be held on Monday, March 8th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Social Hall.  Enjoy food and music provided by David Chevan and the Afro Semitic Experience Band.

Art Spiegelman: Comix 101.1 - Thursday, February 4, 7:00 p.m. at the Anita Tuvin Schlechter (ATS) Auditorium

In his lecture "Comix 101.1," Spiegelman takes his audience on a chronological tour of the evolution of comics, all the while explaining the value of his medium and why it should not be ignored.  He believes that in our post-literate culture the importance of the comic is on the rise, for "comics echo the way the brain works."

 

 

Tu Bi-Shevat Celebration with Musician Eric Komar on January 29, 2010

Celebrate Tu Bi-Shevat at Memorial Hall on Friday, January 29th, from 6:30 to 8:30, with Eric Komar, a Jewish musician from the New Jersey area.  Tu Bi-Shevat is a time of celebrating the promise of spring, when the trees will again bloom and leaf.  This holiday is the beginning of the annual cycle for trees - their New Year.  Food will be provided.  All are welcome to join in the festivities.
