Ecofeminism Deep Dialogues

 Permanent link

Hello friends,

As many of you know, Susannah Bartlow and I will be hosting an Ecofeminist discussion group this semester, to further explore conversations begun in our Fall semester course at Dickinson College "Ecofeminism: Gender Ecology and Justice" and delve deeply into questions of the environment, gender, development, the erotic, climate change, resiliency, soil, earth, home, modernity, cyborgs, ovaries, and much more.  What does a community based on equality, sustainability, and resiliency really look like, and how can we shape our selves and our systems to construct not just what is possible, but what is necessary for a just future?

Ecofeminism Deep Dialogues

When: Mondays 4:45pm - ????

Where: Landis House and other locations

The first deep dialogue will be held at the Landis House. Please check the Ecofeminism Blog for the next location.

Weekly topics, thoughts, outputs, and location will be posted to the blog.  New topic each week.

Light food will be provided each week with rotating/shared responsibility.

I am extending you the cordial invitation to join us Monday evenings (one or many) for deep thought, deep reflection, and much laughter.  Please pass along the invitation to friends, colleagues, and community members who may be interested.

Very best,

Sarah

Discovering Sexual Identity Group

This is a support group for students questioning their sexual orientation.  We will explore topics such as loss of traditional heterosexual life, self-acceptance, and levels of self-disclosure in different communities.  Led by Dr. Maryam Ilahi, Psychology Resident, this group will provide a venue for students to speak about sexuality with other students who are also questioning their sexuality to promote self-acceptance, support, and validation in a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space.  This group will be held on Tuesdays at the Counseling Center (located on the 2nd floor of the Kline Annex) from 1- 2:30pm.  Please contact the Dickinson College Counseling Center at (717)245-1485 for more information about joining this group.
