Internship opportunity

 Internship at the Jefferson School of Population Health
Location:
Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA

Jefferson School of Population Health seeks applicants from Dickinson College to help in the development of a summer "camp" experience for 20 high school students that focuses on current issues in global health. The interns will:

o Research, identify and prioritize specific issues in global health to be included in the summer event scheduled for implementation in 2011

o Identify print materials and web resources related to global health issues suitable for secondary school students

o Design daily/weekly curriculum plan, including hands-on activities and/or field experiences, appropriate to high school students

o Prepare "business plan" for implementation of the program in summer 2011

 

Interns will be invited to return to Jefferson in 2011 to serve as remunerated staff for the summer program.

 

Internships are open to rising juniors and seniors with interest in public and global health, program planning and/or secondary education. Selected students must register for the Transcript Notation Program through the Career Center.  Interested applicants should provide the following:

• Letter of application explaining reasons for interest in global health issues and appropriate qualifications for the internship

• Letter of recommendation from Dickinson College advisor or faculty member

• Copy of most recent Dickinson transcript
