The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Dickinson College invites applications for a tenure-track position in mathematics at the rank of assistant professor beginning in the fall semester 2014. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or be close to completing a Ph.D. in a mathematical science with a background in an area of specialization that complements the department's existing strengths. Candidates must be enthusiastic about teaching a broad range of courses throughout our mathematics curriculum; we welcome applicants who are interested in teaching statistics. The candidate must have a strong commitment to both teaching and scholarship in an undergraduate liberal arts environment.
Dickinson College is a private, highly selective, liberal arts college with 2,300 students located in south central Pennsylvania. The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science has major and minor programs in both mathematics and computer science. It is housed in a technology-rich science center. The faculty prides itself on implementing innovative teaching pedagogy, promoting student/faculty research, and fostering meaningful student/faculty interactions. Faculty are expected to teach five courses per year.
