Interfaith Marriage after Fifty Years: How the World Has—and Hasn't—Changed Based on nearly 50 years' experience in an interfaith marriage and on a lifetime of writing and speaking on the subject and consulting with interfaith couples around the country, Mary Heléne Rosenbaum discusses the changes and challenges dual-faith couples encounter. Few Jewish families these days go into mourning over a child who marries out; few Christian families still think non-Christians are damned. Nevertheless, cultural differences, sociological strains, and the weight of history and theology still present questions for such couples and their families. This talk will present some considerations in discussing intermarriage issues and suggest some strategies for interfaith couples and their extended families. Althouse 106

From Concept to Coffee Cart: Innovative Ideas and Entrepreneurial Students Make Positive Changes at Dickinson Emily Bowie '14, Mary Logan '15, Timothy O'Reilly '15 Join current Dickinson students as they share about The Dickinson College Idea Fund - a student operated resource hub and $15,000 fund for student sustainability projects. The Fund exists to encourage and support student-innovators who design projects to enhance the social and environmental atmosphere of the larger Dickinson College Community. They believe access to monetary resources enables and encourages creative and entrepreneurial activity and helps realize and engage their commitment to a useful education in the liberal arts. In addition to functioning within the Dickinson campus they hope to increase communication with the larger community within Carlisle and among Dickinson alumni. During this session students will provide a brief presentation of the Fund's history, projects and future goals and will open the floor for discussion with attending alumni including questions, comments, suggestions and collaboration ideas.
