Emergency Information
If an emergency arises, family and friends may contact the Department of Public Safety at 717-245-1349. They are open 24 hours a day. Please make sure they know with which class you are associated to assist them in locating you. On campus, the public safety office is located in Kaufman Hall on the corner of West Louther and Cherry streets. There are also blue-light telephones located around campus that give you direct access to public safety, and a flashing light will alert others to your location.
Golden Alumni
Alumni who graduated before 1961 are members of our Golden Alumni and are invited to attend Alumni Weekend every year. Members of this group are guests of the college at the luncheon on Saturday.
Green Initiative - Bring Your Own Water Bottle
As part of our ongoing effort to have as little impact on the planet as possible, we have asked Dining Services to eliminate single-use water bottles. Water will be available throughout the weekend in several locations, and all of our water fountains offer filtered water so you may fill your own reusable bottle. Help us reduce the amount of plastic on campus during this busy weekend by bringing your water bottle with you.
Off-campus Housing
For those who prefer a bit more luxury or privacy than our on-campus housing provides, you may choose to stay in a nearby hotel. A list of area hotels is available at www.dickinson.edu/about/visit/carlisle/Where-to-Stay/, or call the Office of Alumni & Parent Engagement at 717-245-1373.
On-campus Housing
On campus housing is $85 per bed for the entire weekend. A discounted price cannot be given for a single night registration.
Dorm rooms are functional but sparse. Bed linens, towels, washcloths, pillows and blankets are provided for each paying guest, but they are not replenished daily. If you desire other amenities such as lamps, nightlights and clothes hangers, please bring them with you. Shared bathrooms will be designated for men and women. We will guarantee rooms on campus for alumni who preregister. Housing is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Groups will be housed together only after we receive registration forms from all the individuals in your group. There will be a $100 key deposit collected at the Welcome Center registration. MasterCard,Visa and American Express will be accepted. Please note that checkout time is noon on Sunday. All rooms must be vacated by this time and keys must be returned to the Library Welcome Center before you leave campus in order to have your key deposit returned. If you will be arriving after 8 p.m. on Thursday, after 10 p.m. on Friday night or after 7 p.m. on Saturday night, please call the Office of Alumni & Parent Relations ahead of time so special arrangements can be made. Please note that there are no telephones in the residence halls. In the case of an emergency, the Department of Public Safety is open 24 hours a day and can be reached at 717-245-1373.
