The Alumni Council is an advisory board made up of 31 Dickinson alumni and three student representatives. This body advises the President of the College, as well as other members of the senior staff, on matters pertaining to the College in general as well as specific alumni issues.

The Council serves as a voice for alumni and a mechanism through which all Dickinson alumni can have their opinions heard. If you have a question, issue or concern that you would like to bring to the attention of the Alumni Council, please contact us to let us know. Read our mission statement for more information.

The Alumni Council is divided into four committees, each with a special area of focus:

The Leadership Committee
Alumni Programs and Services Committee
Communications Committee
Development Committee

Members are elected to serve three-year terms.

Alumni Awards

The Council highlights alumni of distinction through the annual awarding of two Distinguished Alumni Awards, one for service to the College and the other for achievement in one's professional or civic life. In June 2004, the Council initiated a new award to recognize professional and civic accomplishments of young alumni.

Membership

All Council members are volunteers, and are elected to the Alumni Council by current members. All Dickinson College alumni are eligible to serve on the Council, and can be nominated by themselves or by any one of their peers. The Council meets three times per year; once in the fall, once in the winter, and once in the spring. The Alumni Council is a great way to volunteer for Dickinson and make a difference at the College.
