Admissions
The Dickinson Admissions Volunteer Society (DAVS)
offers you a very special opportunity to share your enthusiasm for the
college and its distinctive programs with prospective students and their
families. You will have a direct impact on students' decisions to
enroll. Future generations of Dickinsonians will be shaped by your
efforts.

to indicate your interest. DAVS will provide the tools and guidance
necessary for you to be an informed representative of the admissions
office. As an admissions volunteer, activities in which you may
participate include:
- Recommending and recruiting the best and brightest students from your area.
- Contacting prospective students through e-mail, phone or mail.
- Attending prospective student receptions in your area.
- Interviewing interested students in your area
- Representing Dickinson College at college fairs in your area.
- Sharing ideas with the director of admissions volunteers and with the regional counselor for your area.

Advancement

- Class Chairs:
The Class Chair program has served the college well for many years. We
currently have 111 agents reaching out to classmates annually to ask for
support of the annual fund.
- Reunion Volunteers:
Each year the college celebrates 10 reunion years and a set of
post-50th-reunion Golden Alumni. These individuals help raise the giving
level for their class and plan the reunion events.
- Cabinet members:
The college has five active cabinets—Baltimore, Boston, Philadelphia,
New York City and Washington, D.C. These groups work with the
development team to encourage a high level of philanthropy in their
areas. This is done primarily through events and personal visits.
- Development committee of Alumni Council:
This committee is a subset of the Alumni Council (the alumni governing
board). Members advise the annual-fund staff about issues regarding
marketing, recognition and strategy for building a more robust annual
fund.
- Parents Fund Committee:
This group serves the college as ambassadors and fund-raisers. Its
primary mission is to ask parents to support the annual fund at the John
Dickinson Society level.

Dickinson Works
The
hallmark of our student networking programming is our online alumni and
parent network, which provides Dickinsonians with an invaluable career
development resource. By sharing career experiences, alumni and parents
provide a wealth of opportunity and knowledge. A growing number of
Dickinson alumni have volunteered to be part of the network and share
information about their careers and offer suggestions to students.
Signing up is easy. Just e-mail career@dickinson.edu for more information.
The Career Center also works with alumni and parents on various special projects. Some of our recent projects have included:
- Junior/Senior Networking Events- Alumni are invited back to campus to share career insight with seniors.
- Career Programs-Alumni regularly visit campus to provide current
students with information about specific career fields and other career
topics.
